WARM2Kids Charitable Foundation’s
main program is the Role Models in Action Program, an action-oriented
set of initiatives that further inspire and reward rising
role models. The program is available to all students, school
systems, and youth organizations, and consists of two exciting
components:
- Role Model School Visit -- Celebrities
and Heroes get up-close with middle and high school students
to deliver inspirational and motivational life lessons,
and challenge students to make positive life decisions.
- Role Model Community Project --
Students and Educators create effective mentoring, community
service, and awareness campaigns; they give back for a chance
to get rewarded with grants and access to an exclusive WARM2Kids
live celebrity role model event.
Role Models in Action is designed to provide unique opportunities
to students and schools that demonstrate the positive impact
of mentoring and role models, as well as the importance and
potential of collective, community-based outreach.
Role Model School Visit Program
The Role Model School Visit Program communicates
to kids and teens that they can be a role model, giving them
a renewed sense of hope. Get Excited! Kids and Teens are given
the rare opportunity to have direct contact with one of their
favorite athletes, entertainers, or other public figures.
Celebrity role models visit local schools in communities around
the country, and share their personal stories and life experiences
to communicate to members of the audience the following messages:
"You are not alone" in facing
personal, family, or social issues
" Although Nobody’s Perfect, We’re All Role
Models"
" It’s Your Responsibility to Strive to be a Role
Model"
School visits are arranged in the communities and schools
where our network of national celebrities were born, raised,
educated, and given a chance to succeed. The program offers
celebrities an opportunity to ‘give back’ to the
communities they care most about, and offers students a rare
opportunity to interact with, and hear the real life stories
of some of today's most popular personalities. This program
will continue to expand to reach out to more and more schools
as the WARM2Kids Charitable Foundation continues to add to
its list of participating Celebrity Role Models.
Role Model Community Project
Students that attend Role Model School Visits are invited
by the visiting celebrity role models to participate in the
Role Model Community Project. The Role Model Community Project
guides kids to learn key habits that lead to attaining their
potential academically, socially, and athletically. The project
improves local communities and gives students and schools
a chance to compete for much needed financial rewards. Additionally,
the program improves relationships with corporations surrounding
participating schools.
The project challenges students to work with their teachers
to create a class community service project. Projects must
exhibit ‘role model’ behavior or activities, but
may range from students mentoring and tutoring younger students
or volunteering at youth centers such as the YMCA or Boy’s
and Girl’s Clubs, to simply setting good examples by
cleaning up and renovating playground areas or creating school
recycling, academic, or athletic programs. The project culminates
with a ‘Final Project’, whereby each class submits
a ‘Creative Endeavor’ illustrating their community
service experience. Each student submits a short individual
essay, describing what they learned from the Role Model Community
Project. Accompanied by a ‘Teacher Reflection’
questionnaire, these projects are submitted to a panelist
of five judges. Winners receive one of three prizes:
- Grand Prize Winners…Exclusive celebrity event invitataion
- 1st Prize Winners...a $5,000 grant presented by a celebrity
role model
- 2nd Prize Winners...a $1,000 grant presented by a local
role model
